One visitor favourite is the fisherman’s cottage, crammed full of fishing-related artefacts and stories. You can also hear the story of Father James McDyer – who came to this isolated valley in 1951 and helped to establish running water, electricity and industry, including the Folk Village. While you’re here, keep enough time to dip into the delights at the Village’s tea room and craft shop, which has lots of traditional local crafts like weaving, knitting and spinning on show. The folk village is right on Glen Beach, with a view of the spectacular cliffs of Glen Head. Tour can be guided or self guided with access to café and craft shop on site.
