It is a lovely coastal 6km round trip trail that leads out to Charles Fort. A classical example of a 17th Century star shaped fort, it is one of the largest and best preserved in the country, with specular view over Kinsale Harbour. Follow Long Quay to the Spaniard Bar, descend to the waterfront and follow the harbour side path (low road), signposted “SillyWalk” until it climbs to join High Rd. Descend to the Bulman Bar, for a pint then uphill up to the fort. Return along High Rd – this is Kinsale’s ‘Golden Mile’, lined with millionaires’ holiday homes and more superb views over the harbour. Duration approx. 1hr Pricing & Capacity Free walk. No limitations to size of group. Opening Details & Refreshment Trail open all year round. Charles Fort Open Seasonally – Mid Mar-Oct, 1000-1800hrs, Nov-Mid Mar 1000-1700hrs.
