It has a dark and troubled history that dates back to the year 1666, the Tottenham family were the guardians of Loftus Hall. Since it was taken over by the Quigley family in 2011, it has been kept in its austere state and tourists can now visit the house and take a tour of the ground floor with a guide who will share the history and legends of Loftus Hall with them. The tombs of Brú Na Bóinne are about 5,000 years old. The complex consists of one large mound and eighteen smaller mounds. The kerbstones around the large mound are decorated with excellent examples of Neolithic art. There is a small exhibition room in the mound where visitors can look down the eastern passage.
