Experience Description
Situated in both Offaly and Laois, in the heart of Ireland, the picturesque
Slieve Bloom Mountains allow visitors to experience and to explore the largest
continuous area of upland blanket bog and forestry in Ireland. It is said that
you can see half the counties in Ireland from the top of the Slieve Blooms.
There are 16 looped walks ranging from 5-16kms to choose from. Spend a
while in the surrounding villages such as Kinnitty or Clonaslee, stepping back
in time, to an era when life moved at a much slower pace.Walking Festival on

Open seven days a week, 365 days a year, subject to severe weather
conditions.
Parking, Access/Ability & Special Requirements
Coach parking available in Kinnitty. Adequate levels of fitness is required.
Longer range walks are best suited to experienced walkers.Walking boots,
raingear, liquids, snacks and mobile phone as appropriate to the type of walk.
There is no limitation on group sizes to undertake these walks. Refreshments
available in villages of Kinnitty, Cadamstown, Clonaslee, Rosenallis, Camross,
Ballyfin.

Opening Details
Open seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Visitor Centre, café, car park
and toilet facilities: open weekdays from 0900-1930hrs. Check the website for
open times during your planned visit.
Visitor Centre Café – Open daily from 0930-1800hrs until 31 October. Open
weekends from 1100-1600hrs from 1 November.
