TheWild AtlanticWay stretches for 2,500 km along Ireland’s western seaboard from Malin Head in Co Donegal down to

Kinsale in Co Cork. It passes along famous landmarks and film locations, has an abundance of activities to dive into or

dip your toe in, an abundance of heritage and cultural experiences, and is the longest defined coastal touring route in the

world. In this sample itinerary you will experience part of this route covering areas of Counties Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo

& Donegal. It is easy to experience it all and at your own pace. To dip in or to delve in, to meet great people and to enjoy

DAY 1

Start your day in Co Clare with a guided walking tour with

LongWay RoundWalking Tours

based in Loop Head. Join with nature

and learn about the history, geology, botany and wildlife of Loop Head.With your guide Laura Foley gain access to areas of beauty

which are otherwise inaccessible to visitors. An hour’s drive from the world renowned Burren, The Loop Head Peninsula offers a

vastly different landscape and geology. Situated between the Atlantic Coast and Shannon Estuary and much like the Cliffs of Moher,

our Atlantic coast offers a string of magnificent Cliff views. The Shannon estuary is home to an array of sealife and pods of Dolphins

which on occasions can be viewed from vantage points along the walks.

Lunch in Lahinch

Continue your journey along theWild AtlanticWay to Doolin the traditional music capital of Ireland and enjoy a guided tour at

Doolin Cave.

Doolin Cave

is home to the Great Stalactite. At 7.3 metres (23 feet) it is the longest free-hanging stalactite in the

Northern Hemisphere. The Great Stalactite, suspended from the ceiling like a chandelier, is truly astounding.

Visit the

Cliffs of Moher Interpretative Centre

. Standing 214m (702 feet) at their highest point they stretch for 8 kilometres (5

miles) along the Atlantic coast of County Clare in the west of Ireland. From the Cliffs of Moher on a clear day one can see the Aran

Islands and Galway Bay, as well as the Twelve Pins and the Maum Turk mountains in Connemara, Loop Head to the south and the

Dingle Peninsula and Blasket Islands in Kerry. O’Brien’s Tower stands near the highest point and has served as a viewing point for

visitors for hundreds of years.
