A short visit to John B. Keane’s pub in Listowel allows visitors learn how to
pull the perfect pint of Guinness (getting a certificate to take home). They
can also attend the Pub Theatre, a series of 40 min plays performed in the
premises where Keane wrote works like Moll and The Field.
No additional language capabilities outside of English.
Duration 1 hr 30 mins – minimum 30 mins if you wish to simply pull the
perfect pint under the guidance of Billy himself and he will regale you and
your friends of stories of old and his life growing up with a famous father
over a pub !

Experience Description
The wood carving workshop takes place at Craft Makers which is a craft
centre housed in a beautiful Victorian building in Tralee. The building houses
a craft store, gallery and studios for professional craft makers. John Murphy
is an experienced teacher on the art of working with wood. Participants will
learn how to use a basic set of carving chisels and the session will also look at
different approaches to finishing a piece. Books, tools and timbers suitable for
carving will be provided.
