Experience Description

The Visitor Centre at Hook Lighthouse offers guided tours of the medieval

lighthouse tower, built byWilliam Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke, known as

the Greatest Knight of his time. Purpose built as a lighthouse 800 years ago

and still fully operational today. Guided tours take you through the Medieval

lighthouse and modern watchtower with fascinating insights, stories and facts

of this unique building. Enjoy the spectacular views from the balconies. Relax

by the sea and keep an eye out for seals, dolphins and even whales. In clear

weather you can see for miles and in a storm the spray often reaches the top

of the lighthouse. Tour: 1hr-2hrs 30mins.

Daily, all year round. June-Aug. 0930-1800hrs, guided tours every 30mins.

Sept-May: 0930-1700hrs; guided tours every hour.

Closed Christmas. Some areas may be restricted during extreme weather

conditions.

Experience Description

Fully guided day tour of Wicklow from Dublin, visiting Glendalough and the

Powerscourt Gardens. Visitors will have the options of a guided walk (approx.

1.5hrs); horse riding (approx. 2hrs) or Powerscourt Gardens (approx. 1.5hrs).

Tour starts Dublin at Suffolk St at 0930hrs, then travels to Enniskerry, Co

Wicklow for visit to Powerscourt or chosen activity. Lunch Enniskerry. Tour

takes scenic route throughWicklow Mountains visiting Glencree, Sally Gap

and on to Glendalough to visit the 6th century monastic site. Return to

Dublin by 1730hrs.

Parking, Access/Ability & Special Requirements

No min/max age but min. age for horse riding is 8yrs. Lunch included. Average

level of fitness required for guided walk and horse riding. Recommend walking

boots or old trainers for walking; jeans for horse riding and some rain gear just

in case! We stop for lunch along the way in Enniskerry.
