Experience Description

The cathedral visit is self-guided with information on the main points of

interest. The Round Tower is a fantastic climb providing one with great

panoramic views of the medieval city. For bigger groups a guided visit is

available. Group visits must be booked in advance. If a cathedral guide is

required this must be indicated at the time of booking. During June, July

and August, guided tours are not available between 1230hrs and 1430hrs.

1400-1600hrs; Sunday: 1400-1600hrs. Duration of experience: 1hr for Tower

& Cathedral.

Parking, Access/Ability & Special Requirements

The tower opens depending on weather conditions. No under 12’s permitted

in the Tower. Access in place in Cathedral for those in wheelchairs. For the

tower, minimum level of fitness to climb. The Tower will not suit any person

that suffers from claustrophobia. No parking available at Cathedral, allow time

for parking on Dean St.

Experience Description

One day 25km food tour by electric bicycle through the Boyne Valley. Tour

starts 0930hrs, finishes 1730hrs; includes five stops at various food/drink

producers over the course of the day. Hosted by the Countess of Mount

Charles, organic farmer and ecotourism guide.

Sample food tour experience:

Start the tour at Rock Farm Slane with a platter of goodies from our clay oven

at the Strawbale Farm Office. Practice run on the electric bikes taking in the

Boutique Campsite with yurts, shepherds huts, Tamworth pigs, Dexter cows,

rescue ponies,etc. Learn about Mount Charles’s sustainable farming plans and

ecotourism project. Tour duration 1 hour including tea/coffee. Route: Easy.

Cycle time to next tour stop 20-30minutes.
