Experience Description
The Tholsel Visitor Centre is a celebration of 1,000 years of history with all
its turbulences and the evolution of Ireland’s bloodstock and racing industry
to present a unique, interpretive visitor experience. It traces the development
of farming, community and their inextricable link with the horse from
Norman times to the present era of global success in the bloodstock industry
and in particular Coolmore Stud Farms which is the epicentre of a world
renowned equine industry. Fethard is the centre of Ireland’s horse country
and has an unrivalled heritage resource in the Tholsel, Holy Trinity Church,
Augustinian Abbey and the TownWalls. Local community and businesses have
combined to develop this showcase of ‘Fethard – Horse Country and Home of
Coolmore.’ Tour duration: 1hr30mins.

Experience Description
The story of the Clock Gate Tower is the story of the Youghal community over
600 years. It is about people, time and place. It is real, authentic, stimulating
and emotive. It has depth and character and it is surprising. It is a story that
fires the imagination, feeds interest, can draw visitors to Youghal.
The exhibition offers information, connecting with all ages, but in particular it
‘gets up close’ to Ireland’s ancient past. It will provoke imagination, emotion
and understanding. Delivered by a ‘storyteller’ the guided tour will be
supported by a visual downloadable app.
