1.5hr guided tour. The world you enter is an authentic recreation of Ireland’s

heritage. From campsite to Ringfort; Mill to Fulacht Fiadh; Crannog to Viking

site, every activity is an adventure into 9000 years of history. Children can

experience fun activities such as panning for gold; wattle your own house.

Includes two adventure playgrounds and an activity scramble. Stay a night or

two in a replica of a 1,500 year old ringfort (Cert. of Tourist Accommodation,

Approved by Fáilte Ireland). Restaurant, craft and gift shop.

Experience Description

Welcome to Maperath Farm, a working Irish farm in the Boyne Valley. Step

back in time and experience Irish food, farming techniques and cooking

traditions through chapters of time. Imagine you are an Irish warrior or lady.

Salute the High Kings of Tara in the distance and light the open fire to start

your journey of tradition and taste through time. Try your hand at cooking

in the fulacht fiadh (under ground clay oven) with wild Irish rabbit or lamb.

Walk in the steps of our forefathers who foraged for wild herbs and plants for

survival and medicinal purposes. Enjoy a medieval celebration. Fully guided

tour: 2hrs with tastings included. Extended 3hrs programme may be arranged

to include visit to working farm.
