Experience

Knowth is one of the three great Irish passage tombs of the Brú Na Bóinne

complex. The tombs of Brú Na Bóinne are about 5,000 years old. The complex

consists of one large mound and eighteen smaller mounds. The kerbstones

around the large mound are decorated with excellent examples of Neolithic

art. There is a small exhibition room in the mound where visitors can look

down the eastern passage. Visitors can also walk on top of the mound

for a panoramic view of the Boyne Valley. Guided Tour available. Audio

visual exhibition – English, Irish, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Print

information – English, Irish, French, German, Italian Spanish and Japanese.

The visitor centre is fully accessible. The small exhibition room and the top

tour, giving you an insight into a 3,000 year old Celtic sport which is the

world’s oldest and fastest field game in the home of the famous “Kilkenny
