Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny is a fully guided tour, open all year round.
While all tours are guided in English, complimentary audio guides are available
in French, German, Spanish and Italian. A pint of Smithwick’s or a soft drink
is included at the end of the tour. Visitors are taken on an interactive journey
through over 300 years of history behind Ireland’s most popular ale and
will find out how the famous ale is made. The tour provides a great blend of
human and digital interaction which provides lots of surprises along the way.
All staff are from the local area in Kilkenny. Duration – 1 hr

Experience
There are many things to admire on a guided tour of Russborough House for
instance the beauty of the Lafranchini ceilings, furniture from Louis XV’s time,
tapestries & silver. Your guide will tell the story of 3 Families from the Earls of
Milltown 1751 to the Daly Family and finally Sir Alfred & Lady Beit who were
heirs to a fortune made in diamond mining. An Audio guide will be introduced
at the end of March, 2017. This will include the history of Russborough, its
owners and a description of the lands which the visitor is walking around.
The 18th century walled garden which was under restoration since 2011 is
opening on 1 March, 2017 for pre booked groups. English, German and French
guides available.
