Experience
The Fethard Horse Country experience offers guests the opportunity to
discover the rich culture and heritage of the region. This interactive exhibition
examines the relationship between the people, the land itself and the horse
revealing how they are all inextricably linked
The meticulous restoration of the C17th Tholsel building forms part of the
journey of re-tracing the history of the area. Individual tales of characters well
remembered are woven into the overarching themes and narratives of the
showcase embedding them in their historical context.
Fethard is one of the finest examples of a medieval walled town and views of
these walls set against a backdrop of working farms and horse-filled fields give
visitors an immediate connection to the past with a simultaneous feeling of
living history.
