EU Just Transition Tourism Learning Network Programme
To maximise the benefit of the EU Just Transition Scheme, Fáilte Ireland developed the EU Just Transition Programme which is a fully funded professional development programme created to build the capabilities of tourism professionals and businesses.
What the programme provided
Led by best-in-class tourism industry specialists, it provided inspirational seminars, structured learning, and professional development to help participants achieve tourism growth in a commercial, equitable, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable way. There were 5 key learning pillars each offering a suite of online and face-to-face learning modules.
These pillars were:
- Understanding Tourism
- Business for Growth
- Digital and Technology
- Access and Inclusion
- Sustainability
Eligible applicants
The programme was open to existing and new tourism businesses, public sector partners, previous employees of BnM or ESB Networks involved in peat or electricity production in the EU Just Transition Territory seeking to transition into a career in tourism.
Call dates
Intake 1
Open call January 11th 2024 with an initial closing date for Expressions of Interest on Thursday 22nd February 2024. This closing date was extended to COB on Wednesday February 28th.
Intake 2
Applications for the EU Just Transition Tourism Learning Network programme opened on September 12th 2024 with a closing date of 12 noon on Thursday, 17th October 2024.
