Our commitment to the Irish language
Fáilte Ireland is building a new website to better support tourism businesses and improve how we deliver public services. A key part of this work is providing a bilingual experience in English and Irish, in line with the Official Languages Act, to make public services more accessible.
A phased approach to bilingual content
We are rolling out bilingual content across the website in phases. The English version launched in July 2026, with systems already in place to support Irish‑language content in the future. This creates a strong foundation for ongoing translation and maintenance.
In 2027, we will expand to full bilingual content across the site, focusing on quality, accessibility and long-term efficiency.
This approach helps us move quickly while building a website that gives users easy access to information in their preferred language, and reflects Ireland’s language, culture and identity.
